Birgitta
Birgitta’s interest in nutrition and
healthy living began when she moved to Victoria,
BC from Sweden in the 1970’s and became involved
in the natural foods industry. Starting
out making granola for a new local whole foods
store, it was the beginning of a passion for
good, healthy food. With the birth of her
daughter, nutrition became even more important
to Birgitta. Through her studies in
nutrition counseling and teaching cooking
classes, she was able to share her gifts and
talents with many people. It was very
important to Birgitta that people were given the
knowledge and principles of a healthy diet so
that they could properly understand and choose a
more organic and holistic
lifestyle.
Birgitta’s busy life often took her
traveling, where she found a new appreciation
for the different cuisines of many
cultures. Being of an entrepreneurial
spirit, Birgitta has worn many hats, but she has
kept coming back to the quality of whole foods
cuisine and its effect on the body and
spirit.
Birgitta has taken on cooking with the
same passion and creativity that she applies to
everything in her life. With a lifetime of
healthy organic living, she now shares her
refreshing, casual style and common sense
cooking in her first book.
Today Birgitta is a demonstration chef
with one of Vancouver’s best natural foods
stores. She has appeared on CityTV's City
Cooks and is reknowned amongst the Vancouver
whole foods and restaurant
industry. Birgitta encourages everyone to
buy organic, eat locally, cook from the heart
and to share lovingly with family and
friends.
